Growing Up

My little baby is growing up so fast. She is getting so big and so tall and sooo smart. She is 14 months old. Last week Eric and I were reminded of how much little kids pay attention and how stinkin smart they are. During our nightly prayer last week we opened our eyes after saying Amen to find Alyzah with her arms folded. She repeatedly thought it was great to show us after the prayer how she figured out how to fold her arms...and we never even tried to teach her, she just noticed on her own and has done it every prayer since.

While we were unpacking our boxes she also found a Hymnal and she loves it. She turns to a page in the hymnal, stares at it like she is reading, and sings made up songs of her own. She knows the hymnal is for singing!

This reminded me that I better start watching what I say and do because they sure pick up on things quickly. Alyzah is also a talker. Here are the words she can say on her own in conversation now:
  1. Hi, hi momma, hi dadda, hi baby, hi dog, hi grandpa ("hi papa")
  2. Alyzah
  3. buh bye
  4. thank you
  5. love you (my favorite one)
  6. more
  7. bite
  8. dog
  9. baby
  10. Baba
  11. Binky
  12. Beautiful (needs a little work but it's getting better)
  13. Eat
  14. Yum yums (her snacks)
  15. Many animal sounds
  16. shoe
  17. down
  18. up
  19. out
  20. hot
  21. no
  22.  eye
  23. mouth
  24. all done
  25. strawberry ("strawbear")
  26. Banana
  27. Grandpa ("papa) and Grandma ("Gama")
I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast. Her and I love doing everything together. I just wish she'd slow down how fast she is growing up - i think this 1 year old stage is my favorite stage so far. Can she just stay this age forever?

Fair

We went to the fair last weekend and we all had a blast. Alyzah was born a serious animal lover - she is crazy about animals and always has been. You can now ask her what a dog, bird, cow, pig (her snorting needs some work), horse, cat, or sheep say and she can make their sound.

At the fair Alyzah was having so much fun looking at all the animals and touching them in the petting zoo.

Hugging the Goat.

Feeding the Goat. She thought it was funny when he licked her hand.

And last but not least, Alyzah, me and Eric all rode this ride that went around in circles and up and down in the air. The ride attendant let all 3 of us ride for the price of 1 person and then let us ride a very long ride. Alyzah's first amusement ride!!

House

A picture of our new house during the home inspection before it was actually ours. We are in 7th heaven living in our new home and Alyzah thinks she rules the place - and she LOVES the backyard.

Alyzah and Eric drinking sparkling cider together to celebrate the night our offer was accepted.

Alyzah thinks our master bathroom tub is pretty cool. We took a bath in it the other night and she was delighted.

Family Reunion

For warning - LOTS OF PICTURES from our 1st Collins Family Reunion down in Southern Utah.

Alyzah and Tayson got along really well and followed each other around all day 'exploring'.

Alyzah's favorite person at the reunion was definitely Titus. Poor titus got jumped on, had his ears pulled, and had Alyzah pulling his tail the whole reunion. Alyzah thought he was just great. She told me to tell daddy that she wants a boxer doggy.
 The cabin.
Our field day boys vs girls. Eric and Kortney were racing to get the marshmallow on a string in their mouth first.
Kortney sucked so Kasey took over...
 and WON!!! Go Kasey!
Playing this tossing game outside - girls got their rearends spanked.
Super Daddy feeding both Alyzah and Tayson PB&J together. Tayson ate almost a whole PB&J sandwich!!! Alyzah needs some of his appetite.
 Swinging sweet little Brin.
Tickling Brin and yes that is cheetos all over her face.
The Guys dancing to a Wii Game. Shake it! (videos to come hehe)

Hiking at Zions National Park. We made the guys push the kids :) And somehow Dane got stuck pushing Brin the whole time but he never complained.
 Love my Family <3

We were supposed to be going on a second hike but I don't think anyone really wanted to because it was waaaayyy too hot. Nobody could find Dad anywhere, he just kind of ran off. And then i finally spotted him....walking straight down the middle of the stream in his clothes, shoes and all...
And then he found his resting spot.
And then we all joined him.

The crazy squirrel that eventually ended up in Kasey's diaper bag.
 Love is in the air.

 The Nelson Family.
This little sitting spot on the stream had current that hit your back and it felt like massage spa jets on your back.

How much water can a Pampers diaper hold?
